*sigh. Okay, so after that fiasco of me raging over my laggy tablet, I decided to put this journal up because as I was looking for ways to fix it many came up to me! And I figured it might help others too.

--Ways to fix a laggy tablet; more specifically geared toward FA users!--

1.) CHECK YOUR CORRECTION. it's at the top, near the toolbar. If you are on the pen tool or eraser tool, there will be a small section of the toolbar that reads: Correction, then a number. If the number is higher than 3 or 4, that's why it might start to lag. Once mine was set to 17. And ha, guess what? IT WAS EXTREMELY LAGGY. Speaking of correction, check your Anti-Aliasing too. That's something right next to Correction that makes your pen either smooth or pixelated. I'm not sure about that one, but make sure to check it if it isn't. I don't think that's a factor in lagginess, but JUST IN CASE. (of course, if you're GOING for the pixelated look, then uncheck it by all means XD)

2.) Sometimes all it takes is some extra background programs running to lag up your other stuff. Close the excess tabs playing audio, videos, etc. Or any big programs that you're not using atm that take up a lot of room. (or RAM or whatever that other stuff is called? im sorry idk im not a computer expert ;; ) Other than that, sometimes my tablet lags if I have too many canvas/works in FA open. X'D so whatever drawing you ain't working on, close it for now and open it later.

3.) Change the settings! This is a pretty common/simple one that I'm surprised many people have not heard of. To start with, go up to the very tippy-top where it says "File," "edit," "Layer" etc. Click "File," then go down to where it reads "Environmental Settings." Where it says "Brush Coordinate," change it from "Tablet Coordinate (recommended)" to "Mouse Coordinate." For further help, use this! :) everythingfirealpaca.tumblr.co… (but wait oops! Sorry, forgot to include, this helpful page is for Mac users only ^^'; If it does actually work on Windows, please let me know!)

4.) If all that shizam doesn't work, then simplest complicated solution? Unplug and then replug your tablet. Sometimes that's all it takes! LOL

5.) Hoo boy, you're still here!?!? Well then, sorry all that stuff didn't work! From here on, I suggest you restart your computer/laptop. Sometimes that works! but, make sure to save all your work before doing that!

6.) Oh, are you back already? Restarting didn't work? Are you sure? uwu Hm. That seems a bit of a serious case. This DOES take a while, but at the moment I think you should uninstall your driver. Make sure to save your settings/preferences (this video goes a bit more indepth into it ->  ignore all that talk about updating and stuff in the beginning. the vid is pretty old but still helpful! :D and not only that I also uninstalled/reinstalled my driver the other day because my tablet simply wasn't working properly. ALSO, sorry this is getting long, but THIS IS VITAL: DO NOT not uninstall the driver before installing a newer update. This means you have TWO drivers on your computer for your tablet, and though I'm sure it doesn't really interfere with your work, IT WILL LAG AND SLOW DOWN YOUR COMPUTER. That's a LOT of space it's taking up. DELETE THE OLD DRIVER FIRST AFTER SAVING PREFERENCES, THEN INSTALL THE NEW VERSION. or whatever version you're just reinstalling X'D)

baaaah. that was some long cheesepuff help tutorial right? *flops over*

well guys, I hoped that helped you!1!!!!!!! if you have any more questions, I am GLAD to help. Purely.

There are many other tutorials besides mine out there too, so if you don't find your solution here make sure to search out those other tutorials to guide you as well as ask me! I have plenty of links to give you to help ^_^

And lastly, if you're really that desperate, just contact Wacom Support. Please. And FA maybe while you're at it. Sometimes they seriously help.

anyway, thanks for sticking around! I really hope this helped you. ciao!

A journal by obtusity that might help explain better than I did ->  Cursor calibration/alignment for FireAlpacaYour cursor doesn't match the drawn line in FireAlpaca?
Try this workaround: Under the File menu, select Environment Setting, and change the Brush Coordinate setting from the default Use Tablet Coordinate (recommended) to Use Mouse Coordinate.
(Technical stuff: changes FireAlpaca to using the Wintab interface for pressure but using the cursor for location, instead of using the Wintab interface for both.)
This may also possibly be fixable by using either the Calibrate function of your pen/tablet software, and/or by turning off "Use Windows Ink" checkbox in Wacom pen/tablet software (and maybe other brands), at least for FireAlpaca - you may have to create a FireAlpaca profile in the tablet software.

Hi! Can I also add that if you have a UGEE monitor or tablet, changing the settings to "start brushing at the moment pen pressure is detected" can help with sketching. Mine barely let me sketch, so if anyone else was having that issue I hope that helped.

Thanks by the way, I never thought of checking brush environment settings! :)
